Kurrimine Beach is a town in Cassowary Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. It is also 102kms away from Cairns. To get a better idea of where Kurrimine Beach is located, you can view the map.

#1 Barnard Island Group National Park

These seven islands are located 5–10 km offshore from Kurrimine Beach. It is accessible by boat and it can be reached within 15 – 30 minutes. These islands have rainforested slopes and shallowed reefs. This national park also offers bird-watching and snorkeling. So, if you’re a bird lover like us, this park is a must-see!

If you’d like to visit these islands, then you should avoid going from the 1st of September to the 31st of March. The Stephen and Sisters Islands are closed and restricted during this period to protect bird nesting. 

#2 North – Wooroonooran National Park – Misty Mountains

This is a must-visit for everyone who makes a trip to Kurrimine Beach!  There are a variety of activities here and endless fun that cannot be missed! This park features stunning waterfalls, a beautiful rainforest, gorges, rivers and much more.

Kurrimine Beach is close to the Great Barrier Reef. 

You can walk out to explore King Reef on low tides. So get your most comfy shoes out and get ready to explore! 

Reef shoes are highly recommended. It is around 800m and it usually takes around 30 to 45 minutes through thigh-high water. Most people prefer to do this in a group. This walk is not guided and it is free!

Along your walk, you will get to see marine life making it one of the highlights. Get ready to see tropical reef fish, clams, turtles, manta rays and much more! You can also visit the reef on a trip.
