You can drink any of the typical ales and IPAs here that you’d expect. But you can also try some weirder stuff like their Milk Stout. They brew it with caramel and lactose sugar, which makes it thick, creamy, and sweet. It’s almost like a dessert!

Meanwhile, they also have some fun, unusual food options that pair perfectly with their fun, unusual drinks!

This family friendly place welcomes all ages and features some non-alcoholic beverages for the little ones and non-drinkers.

One of the oldest breweries in Anaheim is Karl Strauss Brewing Company, which has been around since the late 1980s. While that may not sound that old, breweries are a relatively newer phenomenon in Anaheim. So this one has really stood the test of time!

Given they’re a few decades old by this point, you might think they’d be on the stuffier side. But they’ve actually managed to maintain their vitality all this time.

In fact, in 2019 alone, they managed to brew one hundred and forty different beer recipes! That’s more than most breweries do in several years! These ran the gamut from ales to dark sour varieties.

Over the years, they’ve also won more than one hundred and fifteen awards! It’s a truly venerable establishment serving great beers as well as great food! Try their Bavarian-inspired Windandsea Wheat beer and their cocoa-infused Wreck Alley Imperial Stout.

They’re also family friendly and regularly have live music in their beer garden!

If you love pineapples, melons, and mangoes, we have to recommend the Pineapple Cart, Melon Cart, and Mango Cart! They do a beautiful job of capturing the flavor of each fruit.

They also have a number of fantastic seasonal treats each year. If you’re a fan of Christmas flavors, you won’t want to miss their Holiday Fruit Cart. Its main flavor is cherries, but they’re spiced with allspice, clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon. It truly tastes like Christmas in a glass!

Check it out if you want authentic local flavor as it’s more frequented by Anaheim residents than tourists. They also have a surprisingly large drinks menu with options including beers, ales, IPAs, stouts, fruity blends, and sours.

They’re very big on experimental blends here. They mix sour, tart, and sweet. We’re big fans of the Brown Ale Girl, the Pomegranate Sour, the Mango Chile and Pina Colada IPAs.

The Bruery is another one of the more experimental breweries in Anaheim. According to their website, they deliberately don’t have a house style, so to speak. Instead they’re always trying with different influences and blends.

They don’t even just try different beer styles but also various culinary flavors, ranging from high class to junk food! They’ve won numerous national awards for their entirely unique concoctions.

Flavors include White Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, All the Coffee Cows (vanilla milk stout), and Wit the Funk (a wheat beer made with coriander and orange peel). They also do a delicious Hibiscus Lime sparkling blonde ale that’s out of this world.

And you can sample all of these flavors and more at their happy hour! Regulars get even better deals for signing up for memberships, which are available at various levels. Check out the Bruery for a truly one of a kind experience.

Two glasses of beer, one so full it's dripping onto the table.

If you love the Marvel characters on display at Disneyland, you’ll also love Unsung Brewery Company nearby! Not only are their beer flavors delicious but their entire brand is built on a comic book theme!

Each of their drinks is even given a superhero name along with an origin story, like in a comic book! For example, Buzz Man is a cream ale whose story involves fighting a tentacled monster with the power of magnetism.

Meanwhile, Anthia is a crisp IPA with pineapple notes. Her story is that she’s an alien with superpowers who landed on Earth in the late 70s. The Propellor-Head is a blend of amber ale and coffee.

Bursting with imagination, and whiz! bam! pow! Action, Unsung Brewing is the place to quench the thirst of your inner nerd.

A bartender's hand filling a glass of beer at a tap.

Our last on our list of the best breweries in Anaheim, CA, Noble Ale Works is another fun, homey atmosphere.

Well aware of their proximity to Disneyland, they even riff on the idea in their marketing. They also play up that this is an adult-only venue to appeal to people who want to escape the kids. They proudly announce on their site that you must be 21 “to ride”.

For people interested in how beer is made, their tasting room has a great view directly into the brewery itself. And they serve standard stouts and IPAs alongside their more experimental fare. These tend to be seasonal, such as the St Patrick’s Day inspired Irish I Was A Little Bit Taller.

If they happen to have their Cinnamon Roast Crunch Light available when you’re there, we’re big fans. At Happy Hour or whenever, this place is a blast.
