Wineries in Florida – 10 Ultimate Wineries

Florida isn’t the first state that comes to most peoples’ minds when they think wine. But, actually, it was likely the birthplace of wine in America, thanks to Spanish missionaries. The earliest wineries in Florida began in the mid-1500s!

Today, you’ll find Florida a really fun alternative place to find wine. This is because Florida winemakers use Muscadine grapes along with some other similar native grapes. Unlike many others, these grapes can survive the extreme heat and humidity in Florida.

This also means the wine as a different flavor than your standard Merlots or Chardonnays. Florida also likes doing fun things with wine, such as offering sparkling citrus options and fruit-inspired wines.

The following is our guide to 10 of the best wineries in Florida to help you begin planning your trip. The Sunshine State has so much more to offer wine lovers than most of them probably even realize!
