This is also a family-friendly activity so you can bring your kids along for an experience that they can enjoy and learn from.   The museum is picture-based and uses large text and images to tell the story of how the early settlers first came into the town.

Be sure to plan your expedition to the museum accordingly since they are only open on the first Friday and Saturday of every month. The greatest part is that admission to the museum is free which makes the experience both fun and affordable.

This one is for the adults who are looking for a peaceful weekend of socializing and wine-tasting. Wimberley Valley Winery is a great place to unwind with a glass of wine in the winery’s oak grove or old stone-walled castles.

If you plan your trip accordingly you are also in for a pleasant surprise. On weekends, the winery brings its own vintage double-decker bus that you can order your favorite red or white wines from.

Cliff diving? Yes please! Jacob’s Well is another one of the epic things to do in Wimberley on a hot summer day.  The crystal clear pool is a great way to cool down in the mid-summer heat, but the adventure gets more exciting than that.

As a matter of fact, Jacob’s Well offers far more than a mild swimming experience. You can climb your way to the top of a cliff where you can practice your dives, front flips, and backflips while you splash into the water from a height.

The area also has a variety of hiking trails for you to test your fitness levels throughout the year. The cliff diving experience is considered to be slightly dangerous so it is not advisable for younger children.

Also, be sure to plan your trip in advance since you will need to make an online booking prior to arriving at the well. Snorkeling in Jacob’s Well is also an activity that many visitors enjoy and the beach-like sandy patch is a great place to unwind or catch a tan in the sunlight.
